Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Founder and Director of The YinOva Center
Dr. Jill Blakeway is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and is a licensed and board certified acupuncturist and clinical herbalist. She founded the YinOva Center in 1999 and continues to see patients at YinOva, where she is the Clinic Director alongside her husband Noah Rubinstein. Jill is known for the intuitive way she practices Chinese medicine and for her skill as an acupuncturist and energy healer.
Jill’s work helping women achieve a healthy pregnancy inspired the New York Times to call her one of the city’s top acupuncturists and a “fertility goddess”. Her passion is for combining an ancient system of medicine with conventional biomedicine in a way that helps her patients get the best of both worlds. This prompted her to join forces with a Reproductive Endocrinologist to co-author a book about how to conceive naturally. Making Babies: A Proven 3-Month Program for Maximum Fertility was published in 2009 and has been a bestseller ever since. In 2013 she continued her work in the field of women’s reproductive and sexual health with her second book, Sex Again: Recharging Your Libido.
It was Jill’s interest in integration that prompted her to found the acupuncture program at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she was the Head of Inpatient Acupuncture Services for many years. She currently teaches gynecology and obstetrics as a visiting professor in the Doctoral Program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and in Chicago. She speaks regularly at Chinese medicine conferences and her research has been published in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine.
Jill is the host of CBS Radio’s weekly podcast Grow Cook Heal and is currently working on a third book about energy medicine. She is a popular figure in the media where she’s considered an authority on alternative medicine and women’s health. She has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, CNN, the Early Show, Good Morning America, NBC news, ABC News, Fox News, the Real Housewives of New York, and The Talk and has been quoted in New York Magazine, the New York Times, Martha Stewart Living, Elle, W and Town & Country to name but a few. Jill was also the first acupuncturist to give a TEDTalk, at TEDGlobal in 2012.
